Justice S Muralidhar Takes Oath as Orissa High Court Chief Justice…

Today, Justice S Muralidhar became 32nd Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court. In a swearing in Ceremony administered by Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal, Justice S Muralidhar took oath In Raj Bhawan. Justice S Muralidhar succeeded his predecessor Justice Mohammad Rafiq, who has been transferred and appointed as the new Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.  Here to remember, Before becoming Chief Justice of Orissa HC, Justice S Muralidhar was serving as a judge at the Punjab & Haryana High Court . On the basis of several media reports, Law Minister Pratap Jena, Leader of Opposition, Chief Secretary, Police DG, among others were witnessed in the Swearing In Ceremony. Earlier, President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, in exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, appointed Muralidhar as the Chief Justice of Orissa HC. Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of the State, congratulates Chief Justice on this occasion as he tweeted "Congratulate Justice Dr S Muralidhar on being appointed as Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.
