Much Awaited COVID-19 Vaccine to Reach Odisha Shortly...

Yesterday, Health Minister Naba Das indicated that The much-awaited COVID-19 vaccine is likely to arrive in the state shortly. “We may have COVID-19 Vaccine by January 30” Health Minister said to media. He also added, as per the protocols the COVID warriors including frontline health workers will be vaccinated first. Following to it, In the second phase, elderly persons will be monitored to take the doses of the COVID-19 vaccine once it avails. Senior officials from the State Administration told the State government has identified to vaccinate 3.20 lakh beneficiaries, mostly healthcare workers in the first phase in Odisha. Also, The Health Department had earlier informed that there are 1222 cold chains for the preservation of the COVID-19 vaccine, 1796 ILR for transportation and 1772 freezers in the State. Here to remember, already a dry run was conducted in the state recently and separately designed The Co-WIN web portal (trial version) was used for the dry run vaccination. The user ID for each district and Capital Hospital has been created. At each site, 25 numbers of healthcare workers were enrolled in the portal for the dry run vaccination just before the massive vaccination programme to start in real with not a single mistake to be acceptable.
