Tricolour Shines At UN As India to be Installed Security Council with 2 Years Term

India gets berth in United Nations Security Council with two-year tenure as a non-permanent member of UN body. Reports say, India's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador T S Tirumurti will install the Tricolour. Also T S Tirumurti is supposed to make brief remarks. With a special ceremony at UN is scheduled today, The flags of five new incoming non-permanent members will be installed. The other member Countries are Norway, Kenya, Ireland and Mexico. These countries will join non-permanent members Estonia, Niger, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Tunisia and Vietnam and the five permanent members China, France, Russia, the UK and the US. Here to remember, India will be the UNSC President in August 2021 and preside over the Council again for a month in 2022. The presidency of the Council is held by each member in turn for one month with a certain criteria.
